ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Mikala and I am a handmade fiber artist located in the Ozark’s. I originally got started in this space with embroidery- it's been an important art passed down in my family for generations, and I am so happy to take what I learned from my mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and use it to have a shop selling my handmade items! My modern embroidery hobby quickly turned into dipping my hands in almost every fiber medium, with heavy inspiration from nature and my favorite fantasy books! This shop has led me to some of my favorite people, a huge community of amazingly inclusive and kind bookish friends within several book clubs, and shaped this venture into my absolute dream- a bookish fantasy art shop. I get to read all the books in the world and keep my hands in fibers 24/7, and that's living the dream as far as I'm concerned!

All of my designs are drawn and stitched/woven by hand and of course, made with love! I always source my fibers and supplies from other small businesses, and I always choose eco-friendly/recycled materials whenever possible.

Personally, I am a wife and a mama of one beautiful rainbow baby and twin angel babies, and I started this business to help support my family while I stay home with my daughter. I think handmade homes and handmade products from small businesses are so important, unique, and special, and I am so happy to be able to try to create that for myself and to share it with others! Thank you so much for being here!
